Privacy policy
Last updated 3 October 2026 · Applies to mygoalneeds.money and the GoalGrow Chrome extension.
1. Who we are
My Goal Needs Money ("we", "us") is operated by Fusion Point LTD, a company in Ghana. We provide a private crowdfunding platform for saving — on your own or with friends and family — through the GoalGrow (savings), GoalCollect (collections) and GoalLock (escrow) features, and through the GoalGrow Chrome extension that turns items in online shops into savings goals.
The app is in Beta and is pending approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have, in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
This policy covers the app at mygoalneeds.money and the GoalGrow Chrome extension. It does not cover other websites or services we do not run.
2. What we collect
We collect only what the app needs to work:
- Account details: your name, email address, mobile number, country, password (stored only as an irreversible hash) and, where you use it, the next of kin you provide.
- Identity checks: the ID document and selfie photo you submit for KYC, so we can pay money out to the right person.
- Payment details: your mobile money wallet number (and your payout number). We never see or store your mobile money PIN — your PIN is entered only on your own phone, on the prompt from your network.
- Money records: your goals, collections and escrow agreements, the amounts and dates of every payment, the transaction IDs your network assigns, and the fees we charge.
- Goal content: the pictures you upload or generate, tile counts and descriptions — including products captured from a shop page through the Chrome extension (the item's name, price, photo and web address).
- Messages: the invitations, reminders and support conversations you send or receive, including reports of missing payments.
- Technical data: your device type, app version, and events inside the app (such as creating a goal or requesting a payout) so we can fix problems and keep accounts secure.
3. The GoalGrow Chrome extension
The Chrome extension is optional. If you install it, it requests these permissions:
Read and change data on the websites you visit: this lets the extension detect when you are on a product page and read that page's item name, price and photo. It runs only in your browser. It does not read pages while you are not shopping, does not browse other tabs, and never sends the pages you visit to us — only the details of an item when you choose to save it.
Storage: the extension keeps your sign-in session and your saved settings on your own computer, using Chrome's storage. We do not use it to track your browsing history.
You can remove the extension at any time from your browser's extensions page, which stops all of its activity immediately. You can also delete your saved session from inside the extension.
4. Why we use your information
We use what we collect to:
- Create and secure your account, and let you sign in on the web and through the extension.
- Verify your identity for payouts, and pay your money out to the right wallet.
- Run your goals: request the debits you approved, record every payment, uncover your tiles and keep your payment history.
- Run GoalCollect and GoalLock: agree collections with the person who owes you, hold escrow money until both sides agree, and send the texts you asked for.
- Send you the messages you expect — payment prompts follow-ups, goal nudges, repayment texts, invitations and marketing texts you can switch off.
- Investigate missing payments and answer your questions through Help and support.
- Meet our legal, tax and anti-fraud obligations, and respond to lawful requests.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
Service providers under contract: our payment provider (IT Consortium, whose Uniwallet services collect and disburse your mobile money), our messaging providers for SMS, our hosting and database providers, and our AI image provider when you generate a goal picture. They process data only to deliver these services to us.
Third parties you choose: when you share a goal link, the people who open it can see the goal's picture, name and progress — not your payment records. GoalCollect and GoalLock necessarily share the amount, terms and numbers between the two people involved.
Law and safety: where the law requires it, or to prevent fraud, money laundering and harm.
6. How long we keep it
Account, payment and identity records are kept for as long as your account is open, and for the period afterwards that Ghanaian law requires for financial records (currently at least six years).
If you delete a goal before any payment, its picture and details are removed after the 96-hour window described in our FAQs. Goal pictures you remove are deleted from our storage. Messages and reports are kept while they remain useful for support, then deleted.
You may ask us to delete your account; we will remove everything we are not required to keep by law and tell you what remains and why.
7. How we protect it
Data travels over encrypted connections. Access to our systems is limited to people who need it, and sensitive actions (paying money out, moving escrow money) require checks on our side, not just on yours.
Your mobile money PIN is never collected, stored or transmitted by us. Nobody from My Goal Needs Money will ever ask you for it.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you what happened and what to do, as the law requires.
8. Your choices and rights
You can, at any time:
- See and correct your details on your profile page.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it — by writing to the address below.
- Stop marketing texts from the unsubscribe option in the app. Messages you must receive for the service you asked for (payment follow-ups, goal nudges) continue while the goal runs.
- Turn the leaderboard off, if you would rather not appear on Top savers.
- Pause, cancel or delete your goals, and remove the Chrome extension.
- Complain to us first — and, if you are not satisfied, to Ghana's Data Protection Commission.
9. Children
The app is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we will delete any account we find to belong to a minor.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy was last updated on 3 October 2026. If we make an important change, we will tell you inside the app before it takes effect, and this page will always show the current version.
11. Contact us
Questions, requests or complaints: use the feedback button in the app, the member WhatsApp group, or write to Fusion Point LTD at the contact details on our How it works page. We aim to reply within five working days.
